A Happy New Year of Making

In our little upside down corner of the world, this time of year is a quiet one. The city empties out, summer holidays are in full swing and everyone’s off to the beach. Well, not me; not yet anyway. This slow and sleepy month is one of my favourite times to potter around, clearing the decks and making long lists of plans for the new year. 2017 was a big one, with the exciting twisty turny venture of opening a brand new online shop. So what’s on the cards for 2018 then?

First of all, lots of making. New illustrations, new designs and new collections! Doing something creative every day and trying not to fret about the final result. I’ve designated January as my personal pattern-making month, because designing patterns is something I love to do. Not patterns as in sewing patterns (because I am a rubbish sewer) but illustrated patterns to go on lovely new things like (hint hint) leggings. This is also the month is when I investigate new suppliers, printing companies and order in samples of new products.

Can you tell I'm excited? I am. And don't forget, I'm super open to suggestions for new designs. Looking for a friendly fox? A hat-wearing wombat? Leggings with llamas on them? Let me know, and I'll see what I can do. Happy New Year, friends.
