Fantail in a Flower Garden

I’ve recently been working on a new collection of New Zealand-themed illustrations, of which this is the first. It’s my interpretation of our own native fantail (piwakawaka), which are the fastest, friendliest and cutest birds I’ve ever met. Not far from Auckland there’s a beach called Wenderholm where we often go for holidays, and in summer it’s filled with fantails - flitting around your feet and dive-bombing you as you walk. And the flowers? They’re pohutukawa, which come into their own around Christmas.

As always, this illustration is printed on smooth heavyweight fine art paper and ready to frame (although framing is available on request in the US and New Zealand). Following on from our fantail friend is a New Zealand birds and flowers pattern, for bags, leggings and pillows - making their way into the shop as we speak. In the meantime, you can purchase this little fantail print here - guaranteed to make your home a happier place!
