Fantail in a Flower Garden

I’ve recently been working on a new collection of New Zealand-themed illustrations, of which this is the first. It’s my loose interpretation of our own native fantail (pīwakawaka), which are the fastest, friendliest and cutest birds I’ve ever met. Not far from Auckland there’s a beach called Wenderholm where we often go for holidays, and in summer it’s filled with fantails - flitting around your feet and dive-bombing you as you walk. And the flowers? They’re pōhutukawa, which come into their own around Christmas.

As always, this illustration is printed on smooth heavyweight fine art paper and ready to frame (although framing is available on request in the US and New Zealand). You can purchase this little fantail print here - guaranteed to make your home a happier place!
