Many moons ago and starting when I was very small, I did a lot of drawing. Favourite subjects: horses, girls in flowery frocks but most of all, cats. A long while later, when I was thinking of becoming a proper grownup artist, my Grandma said to me: ‘You really should make cards with your drawings of cats on them. People would like them, you know.’

I often think about what she said and how she’d be tickled pink if she knew what I was up to now. It took a long time for me to remember her wise words and actually do something about it. And never forget – always listen to your Grandma.
